The Nebraska City Housing Authority was created as a Rotary project in 1962. The express purpose of the creating Riverview Terrace was to provide affordable low cost housing to the elderly/disabled residents in Nebraska City. In 1964 Riverview Terrace and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) signed a contract making Riverview Terrace an official Public Housing Authority. Hence Nebraska City Housing Authority was born.
